My Approach
In a nutshell, my method is best described as
Trauma-Informed, Consent guided, Holistically minded, Expressive Arts Based Body-Oriented Psychotherapy
"But what does that all mean?"

Trauma-Informed Practice: is a way of working that take trauma and effects of past experiences into consideration in every aspect of the work.

Consent Guided: Often too many aspects of our lives require us to do what we "need to do" not what we "want to do" or what is safe for us. My sessions are based are learning how to listen to your body and your gut and work at the right pace that is effective, but not re-traumatizing.

Holistically Minded: in my mind means that the practitioner is looking at all facets of mind and body health, as well as the realities of environment, demands, and responsibilities.

Expressive Arts based: Being trained as an Expressive Arts therapist, I incorporate both verbal and non-verbal ways of working in therapy; to both access what does not always have words and to allow space for healing to occur in the body, not just with the mind. These may include art, music, movement, or writing.

Body-Oriented Psychotherapy: Along with the Expressive Arts modalities, I also include other types of therapy that focus on the body and the experiences in the body, not just in the mind. These can include Bio-energetic exercises, breathwork, mindfulness practices, parts work and more.
I treat each person that enters my office as unique, tailoring the therapy to meet the needs of the client. That being said, there is an undercurrent in all my sessions that is based on acceptance of feelings/emotions, consent, creativity, and honesty. I truly love my job, and I believe that shows in everything that I do.
